Dove Academy, founded in 1997, is a tuition-free public charter school located in Detroit, Michigan. Our Academy is authorized by Oakland University, and currently serves over 400 K-8 children and their families.

Dove Academy also integrates both the “PBIS” and “No Excuses University” programs into its curriculum, which focus on innovative, collegiate-themed instruction and teaches character skills that enable students to achieve greatness in all aspects of life. The success of these programs, along with the school’s rigorous, subject-based curriculum, has enabled the Academy to consistently meet the state of Michigan’s Annual Yearly Progress standards of education.
At Dove Academy, we pride ourselves on our successes and celebrate both individual and school achievements. This includes special recognitions such as having the Dove Choir invited to perform the National Anthem at an Oakland University men’s basketball game, or in being named a “Top Performing Charter School” by the Michigan Association of Public School Academies organization. Each year we continue to be acknowledged for our excellent student learning programs and the safe, family-like community we have built at the Academy.
