Our Staff Soars!

Our staff soars!

Sarah Tate-McClendon is one of our Student Advocates here at Dove Academy. Once Sarah walks out our campus doors her day doesn’t end there – she walks out the doors to become a scholar herself. Sarah is currently enrolled in the Graduate Certificate Program for Urban Education and also the Masters of Education Program with a Urban Educational Leadership concentration at Davenport University. Her anticipated graduation date is Winter of 2022.

Recently, Sarah was nominated to become a member of The National Society of Leadership.

“The National Society of Leadership is the nation’s largest honors society, with a partnership with 74 colleges, students are nominated and selected based on their college based academic standing or leadership potential,” said Sarah. “Their goal is to help maximize leadership potential in their members. The expectation of NSLS is to use the resources and tools given to build better leaders in the world.”

To be eligible for induction into the Society as a member, you first must be formally invited by Davenport University. Invitations are sent out prior to the Fall and Winter semesters for students who qualify based upon GPA.

Participating members must complete the following requirements prior to becoming inducted to DU’s chapter:

  • Attend the orientation session (in seat at Lettinga and Lansing, or online)
    Participate in Leadership Training Day
  • Attend three Success Networking Team (SNT) meetings
  • Attend or watch three speaker broadcasts (must have aired after your join date – previous speakers do not count)
